Larry Dale Stone, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 with his family by his side. Mr. Stone was born October 20, 1946, in Benton County, TN. to the late O.M. (Buck) Stone and Dorothy Nadine (Dean) Stone. Mr. Stone was a self-employed Brick Mason for over 30 years. He worked in Benton, and surrounding counties. He was injured on the job, which caused him to retire on disability. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war and in the Standby Reserves for one year. He received several medals for sharp shooting with different guns. He was sent to Germany, where he walked and guarded the Berlin Wall.
Mr. Stone loved hunting and most of all he loved fishing with his dad until his death. Later he fished with his Uncle Wendell. He did so until he was no longer able to get in and sit in the boat for long periods of time because of his injuries. He also loved to garden and along with his wife raised and sold vegetables, at his residence, for over 20 years until his health declined and he was no longer able. The last three years, his wife stepped in doing most of the work, following instructions, so it would be done the way he wanted. He was married to Donna Allen Stone for 56 years. He loved to dance with her and did so until he was no longer able. He even signed them up for dance lessons to surprise her.
Mr. Stone was preceded in death by one son Jeffery Adam Stone, age 16, which hit them hard.
