Larry Stow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowser Family Funeral Home - Broken Bow on Nov. 25, 2025.
Larry Dale Stow, age 79, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, went to his Heavenly home on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on Friday, June 14, 1946 to his beloved mother Delilah Jones Stow in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Larry was a devoted family man whose life was rooted in faith, love, and hard work. A proud graduate of Broken Bow High School, he spent nearly all his years in Broken Bow, with the exception of his honorable service in the United States Army, which took him to Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina.

Larry married the love of his life, Doris Ann Hughes, and together they shared 59 wonderful years, filled with joy, partnership, and a deep and steady love that shaped their family.

He worked faithfully for 37 years at Dierks/Weyerhaeuser, earning the respect of his coworkers through his dedication and strong work ethic. Larry also served the Lord wholeheartedly, spending 22 years as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Broken Bow, where his wisdom and steady presence touched many lives.

He enjoyed the simple, meaningful pleasures of fishing, hunting, and traveling with Doris, his constant companion. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and his infant daughter.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Doris Stow of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; two sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Kenda Stow of Houston, Texas and Jay and Jennifer Stow of Chandler, Arizona; three grandchildren, Victoria and Kaleb Gfeller of Borger, Texas, Karsten Stow of Angleton, Texas and Landry Stow; one great granddaughter, Kamille Gfeller; several other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Broken Bow First Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hochatown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10 A.M. before the funeral. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 370, Broken Bow, Oklahoma 74728 and Pathway International Student Ministries at Arizona State University. https://www2.teachbeyond.org/support/jjs/
