Larry Wayne Tennison, 75, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Hooper officiating. A private burial will follow in Clyde Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Larry was born December 20, 1949, in Rising Star to Deotis and Lura (Caraway) Tennison. The family moved from Cross Plains to Clyde when he was about two years old. He attended Clyde schools from first grade until graduation. He always liked raising livestock. He grew up liking big trucks and wanted to drive them. He started driving trucks in 1970. He started his own company in 1996, Larry Tennison Trucking Company. He operated his company until June of 2023 when he had to retire due to medical problems. He was very proud of 53 years of driving without any chargeable accidents. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and no distance was ever too great to support them in their athletic and FFA pursuits. He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Durrett and husband Mike of Ponder; one granddaughter, Taylor Durrett of Ponder; two grandsons, Mason Durrett and wife Jensen of Denton and Nolan Durrett of Ponder; two great grandson, Everett and Dulyn Durrett of Denton and growing; three brothers, Raymond Tennison and wife Bonnie of Robinson, Jackie Tennison and wife Marilyn of Clyde and Deotis Tennison, Jr. of Clyde; his two puppies, Sadie and Dollie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Deotis and Lura, his sister, Jeanelle Tennison and his fur baby, Maggie.
