Larry P. Tobin, 71, of Spencer, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Larry was born on April 14, 1954 in Marshfield to Lawrence A and Armella C (Rapp) Tobin. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1973. On April 20, 1974 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Joyce M. Schulz at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

Larry worked for the Village of Spencer Public Works Department and as waterworks operator there until his retirement.

Larry and Joyce enjoyed hunting together with other family members. He was an avid CB radio operator and also was a member of 4 international radio groups. He was a member of GPAA gold prospectors, and they did metal detecting and gold panning in Alaska and the Black Hills of South Dakota while on camping trips. They took other camping trips out west and also to Cape Breton Island, PEI and Thunder Bay in Canada.

Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce, son Ryan P. (Lori Hardy) Tobin, and granddaughter Lynnsey Tobin, all of Spencer.

Larry is further survived by his brothers William and Thomas (Diane) Tobin, both from Marshfield, brothers and sisters-in-law Larry (Maxine) Schulz of Marshfield and Jerome (Carol) Schulz of Weston, along with several nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Armella Tobin, father and mother in law Milton and Dorothy Schulz, brothers Ronald and Dan Tobin, sister in law Shirley Tobin, and his canine buddies Pepper, Frosti, and Kodi.

The family wishes to have private funeral services.

The family also wants to thank all the nurses and doctors in the medical ICU at Marshfield Medical Center for the compassionate care they gave to Larry.
