Larry Stanley Trigueiro, Jr. was born on August 4, 1968, in Fresno, California, and passed away in Clovis, California, on February 18, 2025 at the age of 56. He was a farmer, racecar mechanic and basketball coach.
Larry grew up in Easton, California, attending American Union Elementary, where he was involved in 4-H, and Washington Union High School, where he developed a love for basketball. After marrying his wife, Michele, they settled in and raised their family in Caruthers for the remainder of his life.
From a young age, Larry was involved in farming, working alongside his Dad, Uncle Bob, and Grandpa Stan. His passion for farming continued throughout his life, as he worked for Loraine Trigueiro Custom Farming doing custom hay harvesting in addition to running his own farm, 5T Farms, with his son Brayden growing grapes and almonds.
Larry was also deeply involved in racing throughout his life, beginning with working on the family team with driver Everett Edlund. After high school, he hit the road full-time with the World of Outlaws for one year, working with driver Jeff Swindell. Larry then returned to a regional schedule with Davey Hamilton, with whom he would form a lifelong friendship. Many of Larry's major wins came with Davey behind the wheel, and they continued racing together for the rest of Larry's career, winning their final race together just this past year.
In the early 2000s, Larry worked for Western Speed Racing with various drivers, including Tony Stewart, and later helped develop the highly successful Toyota midget engine with Pedregon Racing. He also had the privilege of working with AJ Foyt's IndyCar team and enjoyed racing with his two sons in quarter midgets and micros. The list of drivers whose careers Larry impacted is truly immeasurable.
Larry began coaching at Washington Union High School in the late 1990s before taking a break to coach his sons in baseball. During this time, he created the Cen Cal Grizzlies travel organization, taking his teams all across the western United States. He also got involved in coaching basketball for his boys. After they graduated high school, Larry transitioned to coaching girls' basketball, helping build the Caruthers High School girls' basketball dynasty and founding his SS24 Cal Sparks travel organization. He also became involved with the College of Sequoias Women's Basketball program assisting with recruiting. The number of young lives he impacted through his coaching cannot be quantified.
None of his accomplishments in life were more important to him than his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Michele; children Brayden and his fiancée Molli, Carson, and Morgan; sister Colleen Reisdorfer and her husband Scott; nieces Katie and Natalie Reisdorfer; great-niece Stephanie Rodriguez; aunts Loraine Trigueiro and Eileen Dias; uncles Al Dias and Ron Trigueiro; many other loving family members; and many kids he came to love as his own over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Sr. and Marie; grandparents Stan and Lena Trigueiro, and Lawrence and Esther Wilkinson; and uncles Bobby Trigueiro and Larry Wilkinson.
A viewing will be held at Jay Chapel, located at 1121 Roberts Ave, Madera, CA 93637, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Washington Colony Cemetery, 7318 S. Elm Avenue, Fresno, CA 93706, on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at the C.P.D.E.S. Hall, 172 W. Jefferson Avenue, Fresno, CA 93706.
