Larry Wayne Wallace, 70, of Gladewater, TX went to his Heavenly home on October 9, 2023 in Longview, TX. He was a beloved father, Grand-daddy, brother, and uncle.
Larry was born to Robert and Dorothy Genelle Wallace on September 6, 1953 in Atlanta Tx. As a child, Larry loved to play baseball and was also a cub scout. Later on during his high school years, he used his height to his advantage and played the beloved game of basketball.
His school years were spent at Marshall ISD and he graduated from Linden Kildare High School in 1972. Following graduation, he completed 1 year at East Texas State University. He then felt the call to serve his country and joined the Marines in 1973. He did his basic training in Beaufort, South Carolina and earned many awards while in the service including a marksmanship award. He was a loyal marine and was proud to have served his country for over 6 years.
He made his career as a copy machine repair technician and could fix almost any copier that was broken.
Larry enjoyed watching many sports including Nascar races, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Rangers. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly and was one of their biggest cheerleaders. In his spare time he enjoyed yard work and wood working while always having a glass of sweet tea in hand.
Larry made Jesus the Savior of his life on October 7, 1962. He was at peace knowing that he would see Jesus face to face as well as his family members when the Lord was ready to call him home.
He is survived by his daughter, Mandi Martel of New Braunsfels, TX and her children Saige Ainsworth (Alex),Vinny Menetti, and Morgan Martel. Daughter, Monica Morlen of Diana, TX and her husband Mark and their children Jeff, Drew, Daniel, Kensley, Maddox, and Maggie. Sister Barbara McCay and her children Traci James (Kevin James), Kristi, and Sherry. Sister Sharon Pilcher and her children Terry, Lisa (Matt), and Scotty. Step father, Charles Narramore and many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his beloved son, Jason Wallace. His father Robert Wallace and mother Dorothy Genelle Narramore.
The visitation will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 am and the funeral will be at 11:00 at Croley Funeral Home in Diana, TX.
Donations in Larry's honor can be made to the Children's Alopecia Project or The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
