Larry “Wayne” Evans, 61, of Reidsville, unexpectantly passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Frye Regional Hospital in Hickory, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Lewis, Pastor Dustin Wilson, and Pastor Vanessa York officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at his home.
Also, A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Fellowship Church in Nashville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Wayne was born in Johnston County, NC to Bill Evans and Mary Harper. He was an avid outdoorsman and could only be found in his favorite hunting stands during deer season. Wayne was proud to be called “Papa” by his children, grandchildren, and many more. He was a member of Fellowship Church in Nashville, NC where he was a part of the Royal Rangers, serving as a Commander and teaching camping, life and survival skills. Wayne later served as Youth Pastor at Dan River Wesleyan Church. Wayne loved his family and coworkers at Edwards Inc. in Spring Hope, NC, where he faithfully worked for 15 years. He was a loving and devoted husband and soulmate to his wife Patience. He was one in a million and will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jason Evans and niece, Staci Jo Morgan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Patience Fairman-Evans, daughters Brandy Evans Hunter (Josiah) and Kymi Evans Lancaster (Gabe), grandchildren, (Bale and Dalia Munoz, Alely Velazquez, Davis Hunter, Caleb, Jacob and Liam Lancaster) father, Bill Evans, mother, Joan Evans, brothers, Jeff Morgan (Barbara), Eddie Morgan (Amy), Terry Evans and Walter Evans, mother-in-law, Nancy Fairman, sisters, Kelly Fairman and Jordan Evans, many nieces, nephews, and a large and loving group of extended family and friends including Shadow.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Edwards Inc. in Spring Hope, NC for all their continued care and support as well as the medical team at Frye Regional Hospital in Hickory.
