LARRY WHISENHUNT Obituary

LARRY JOE "TOW BAR" WHISENHUNT Larry Joe "Tow Bar" Whisenhunt, 80, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed from this life Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born December 1, 1944, in Idabel, Okla., to Richard Leroy and Zela (Capps) Whisenhunt. He was raised in Wright City, Okla., and graduated from Wright City High School. Larry married Linda Adams on August 23, 1969, at the home of Clois and Lavern Deloach in Shawnee. He worked as a firefighter for Shawnee Fire Department and later worked as a fork lift operator and lineman for General Motors in Oklahoma City before retiring after 25 years. He loved fishing and traveling with Linda. Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Linda Whisenhunt; his sister, Alice Jones; his brothers, Dale Whisenhunt, Jerry Whisenhunt, and Jack Whisenhunt. Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Billy D. Whisenhunt and wife Brenda; brother, Dennis Whisenhunt; special cousins, Marion Dale Capps and Micky Gene Capps; his dear friends, Billy and Cindy Logsdon; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, and friends. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2024, at Tecumseh Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor Keith Ward officiating. Burial followed at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. To share memories or to sign the guest book online, go to www.cooperfuneral.com.
