Larry Gene Wigger, born Sunday, November 12, 1939, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late Cletus “Lenrow” Wigger and Dorothy Irene (Coleman) Dittmer, peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Larry was a devoted father, brother, and friend, known for his strong work ethic and his sense of humor. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard and later retired from General Motors, where he worked as a supervisor in the paint department. Following his retirement, Larry continued working for Lawrence Gwaltney for 22 years.
Larry truly loved life to its fullest. He was a lifetime member of the Jaycees in Bonne Terre and a member of the Desloge Elks and the Bonne Terre Eagles. He was also a consistent supporter of the Shriners Hospital and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
An avid Harley rider, Larry cherished riding with friends and made many special cross-country trips. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his lawn. He was quite the dancer and was known for being friendly, sociable, and loyal. Most of all, Larry was an amazing and loving father to his girls.
Larry’s legacy lives on through his loving daughters, Cynthia (Kevin) Wigger-Schrecengost, Tammy (Sonny) Nickles-Halbrook, and Linda (Steve) Braswell; his cherished grandson, Seth Nickles, and his fiancée, Cheyenne Shields. He is also survived by his siblings, Carmen Coss and Sharon Graham; his longtime friend and next-door neighbor, Jeff Aubuchon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Rosie Wigger and Carl and Elsie Coleman; his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Kay Wigger; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Coss and Bill Graham.
Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, January 8, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
In lieu of flowers, Larry requested that memorial donations be made to either the Shriners Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
