Perry Smith, age 75, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 24, 1950, in Caledonia, Perry was the cherished son of the late Overton and Maude (Bell) Smith.
Perry was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 67 Gun Club and a proud member of the National Rifle Association. His adventurous spirit led him to earn his pilot’s license, allowing him to soar through the skies in private planes. Perry was also the Director of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter C, where he shared his love for motorcycling with fellow enthusiasts.
Perry found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, hunting, nurturing both vegetable and flower gardens, and observing and feeding the many birds that frequented his yard. However, nothing brought him more happiness than spending quality time with his dear family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Robert “Bud” Smith and Thelma Daniels.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley Arlene (DeClue) Smith; one son, Jeffery (Rhonda) Lovelace; his grandchildren, Amber (Landon) Hahn and Augie Montgomery and two great-grandchildren, Layne and Lynden Hahn; sister, Mary Ann Radford; best friends, Rick and Judy Hale; special fur buddies Toby and Mandy; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, February 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM. The visitation will resume, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM until the service time of 11:00 AM. Reverend Randy Murphy will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Iron County. Memorials may be directed in honor of Perry’s memory to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
As we remember Perry, let us hold tight to the moments we shared with him, for his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
