Margarete Jean Whaley, 75 of Farmington, was a beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at NHC Nursing Center in Desloge. Born on October 9, 1950, in Bismarck, she was the daughter of the late William and Audrey (Hall) Campbell. Margie, as she was affectionately known, dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, embodying compassion and generosity in all that she did.
Throughout her life, Margie had a deep appreciation for music, which brought her joy and solace. She cherished the moments spent with her family, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate with those she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bill Campbell, Mary Mortimer, Nita Pratt and Tom Campbell.
Margie is survived by her sons, Michael Gibbons and wife Janice, Greg Gibbons (Regina Smith); 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Logan and Alyssa Gibbons; two great-grandchildren, Cali and Cove Gibbons; and siblings, Don Campbell, Carolyn Skidmore, Nancy Taylor and husband Robert, Dale Campbell, David Campbell and wife Karen, Donna Freeman and husband Jerry; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. As we remember Margie, let us carry forward her legacy of compassion, love, and an unwavering commitment to those in need. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
