Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc. - Middle IslandLarry Wilson, devoted family man and highly esteemed community member, passed away on February 23, 2026, in Gordon Heights, NY. Throughout his life, Larry was a dedicated HVAC technician at Stony Brook University, where he made a significant impact through his craftsmanship and commitment to excellence.
Larry was a lifelong member of St. Mary's AME Church in Gordon Heights, a testament to his strong values and community spirit. He was well-known and well-respected throughout the community, leaving behind a legacy of service and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda M. Wilson; his daughter, Crystal A. Alexander and her husband Wendell; his son, Herbie W. Evans; daughters Frances M. and Patricia A. Evans; and son Trevor Cooper. Larry also cherished a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who added joy to his life. He is further survived by his sisters, Diane, Denise, and Loretta, and brother Columbus. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Frances; his son, David Jackson; and his siblings, sister Charlotte; and brothers James Curtis, Woodrow, Anthony, and Vincent.
Visitation will be held on March 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953. During the visitation, a funeral service will be held for Larry at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Washington Memorial Park cemetery, where Larry will be laid to rest.
Larry Wilson's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
