Laura Doolittle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMillan-Small Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 8, 2025.
Laura Ann Clemente Doolittle was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1950, and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut in an Italian-American family with 6 children. She graduated from high school as the class salutatorian, which earned her a full scholarship to Marymount College located in Tarrytown, New York. After graduating from college with a math degree in 1972, she accepted a job with the General Electric Company located in New York City, where she entered the Financial Management program. During her career at GE, she worked as a financial analyst for a number of years and advanced to various positions in other divisions, including leading GE's Information Systems Management Program (ISMP) where she managed and mentored the program's participants. She became a role model for many of the young women starting their careers. She met her husband, Brian Doolittle, at work and they married in 1983. During her marriage, she lived in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Indiana. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, eventually winding up at the Brightwater complex. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, 4 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren, a sister and 3 brothers.
Laura loved art, she drew, embroidered and painted, including painting faces on rocks. Laura was a kind, caring, inclusive person with a bright infectious smile, who put others before herself. She was well liked by all she met, and loved dearly by her husband and family. She will be missed by all.
