She will await the resurrection at St. Anthony Mission Chapel Cemetery (1639 Old Spanish Trail Hwy) in Cade, LA.
The visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, March 22, 2025, beginning at 8:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 A.M.
Laura was born on November 23, 1956, in Lafayette, LA to the union of Excorn Chretien and Rita Filer Chretien. She was a resident of Broussard, LA, who transitioned at 11:48 A.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
She was a devoted Catholic.
She leaves to cherish her fond memory, three sons: Roy Chretien III, of Broussard, LA, Ryan Fontenette (Chandra) of Cade, LA and Towaski Fontenette (Syntara) of Saint Martinville, LA; four brothers: Ronald Chretien (Brenda) of Cade, LA, Willie Chretien (Gert) of New Iberia, LA, Eddie Chretien, and Antoine Chretienof Cade, LA; two sisters: Diana Darby (Bobby) and Mary Rena Chretien of Broussard, LA; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Roy Fontenette; parents: Excorn Chretien and Rita Rose Chretien; two sisters: Beverly Rixner and Barbara Celestine; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roy Fontenette, Sr. and Barbara Jean Fontenette.
The active pallbearers are Steven Blanco, Jr., Jeremiah Chretien, Scottie George, Dontrae Chretien, Craig Chretien, and Willie Chretien.
The honorary pallbearers are Ty'Jah Ross, Ronald Chretien, Terrol Dugas, Bradford Williams, Edie Chretien, and Jermaine Chretien.
