Laura was a devout Catholic and a loving mother of nine, who leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born and raised in Utica, NY, Laura had a deep passion for snow, which fueled her love for skiing and speed skating in her youth. She excelled academically and later applied her skills in a career at Progressive Sheet Metal. Laura was never one to sit idle; she embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. An avid reader, she took great pleasure in typing correspondence with friends and family. Her upbringing on a farm instilled in her a lasting love for growing things from seeds, which blossomed in her later years as she grew a variety of plants and trees. Family was always Laura's top priority. She remained engaged and active, finding joy in knitting, where she poured her heart and soul into creating beautiful sweaters, blankets, and baby clothes for many, fostering lasting friendships along the way. Laura also delighted in making homemade cakes, jellies, relishes, and pickles, showcasing her culinary talent. In her downtime, she enjoyed making puzzles and often found herself at the kitchen table, playing solitaire with an old deck of cards. Known as the best penny-pincher you'd ever meet, Laura never wasted anything and always approached life with gratitude and resourcefulness. She will be remembered with immense love and laughter by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Laura's spirit and dedication to her family will continue to inspire us all.
