Laura was a devout Catholic and a loving mother of nine, who leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. Born and raised in Utica, NY, Laura had a deep passion for snow, which fueled her love for skiing and speed skating in her youth. She excelled academically and later applied her skills in a career at Progressive Sheet Metal. Laura was never one to sit idle; she embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. An avid reader, she took great pleasure in typing correspondence with friends and family. Her upbringing on a farm instilled in her a lasting love for growing things from seeds, which blossomed in her later years as she grew a variety of plants and trees. Family was always Laura's top priority. She remained engaged and active, finding joy in knitting, where she poured her heart and soul into creating beautiful sweaters, blankets, and baby clothes for many, fostering lasting friendships along the way. Laura also delighted in making homemade cakes, jellies, relishes, and pickles, showcasing her culinary talent. In her downtime, she enjoyed making puzzles and often found herself at the kitchen table, playing solitaire with an old deck of cards. Known as the best penny-pincher you'd ever meet, Laura never wasted anything and always approached life with gratitude and resourcefulness. She will be remembered with immense love and laughter by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Laura's spirit and dedication to her family will continue to inspire us all.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, July 11, 2025, from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Avenue, Feasterville, PA 19053, immediately followed by her funeral mass 10:30AM. Interment Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Philadelphia. (Bridesburg).

I am so sorry to read about Laura´s passing. Laura and I exchanged Ancestry information the past few years, and she was such a sweet lady. I am so glad to have connected with her.

Laura was my book exchange friend at Chandler Hall.

My family will miss talking to her when they came to visit me.
She also shared a room with my wife after her neck injury two years ago.

It´s with deepest sympathy and prayers for everyone as she will be missed.
Sincerely,
Edward J. Grier

Cousin Laura was close to my late mother, Josephine Bechta Scotti, so I saw her from time to time when I was a kid. When my son Josh was born in 1991, she knit this sweater for him. His sister Jesse wore it when she was little too. Now that Josh has a son, it's time to pass it on to Wyatt. This sweater was always special to me because it reminded me of a kind and thoughtful person who always had something nice to say.
