Laura Golden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richard D. Cole Funeral Home Inc. on Jan. 6, 2026.
Laura Edith (Cooper) Golden, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her sons, on the morning of Friday, January 2, 2026, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Ambrose Cooper (born in Charlottesville, Virginia); her mother, Laura Edith (Harris) Cooper (born in East Liberty, Pennsylvania); her sister, Anne Harris; and her brothers, Steven F. Cooper and David C. Cooper.

Laura is survived by her devoted sons, Mark D. Golden (Brandy) and Adam W. Golden (Chasity); her brother, Larry S. Cooper; the father of her children, Daniel Lee Golden of Syracuse, New York; and her cherished grandchildren, Aaliyah Golden, Sarah Golden, Natalie Golden, Francesca Golden-Crowe, and Aurora Wagner. She also leaves behind extended family, including the children of her sister Anne, and the family of her brother, David. Laura will be dearly missed by many friends, neighbors, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Raised in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania, alongside her siblings, Laura graduated from Quaker Valley Senior High School in 1973, where she proudly served as the school's morning announcer for several years. In 1974, she relocated to Syracuse, New York, with her brother Steven, where she worked for Nationwide Insurance and met Daniel Lee Golden. She returned to Leetsdale in 1976, later moving to Sewickley in 1988, then Moon Township, and finally to Imperial, Pennsylvania, where she resided at the time of her passing. Laura enjoyed a dedicated career in the insurance industry. She worked for Mutual of Omaha at the former Pittsburgh International Airport for six years before beginning a 30-year tenure at FedEx in February 1989. She retired in June 2019 as a senior account representative. A woman of deep faith, Laura attended St. Matthews AME Zion Church in Sewickley for many years before becoming a member of The Table Church in Oakdale, Pennsylvania, where she remained active until her passing. Laura touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness, cherishing her many wonderful friendships. She loved her grandchildren dearly and treasured family beach vacations. Strong in her faith, she walked daily with Jesus, inspiring those around her with her kind and loving spirit. We are forever blessed to have had her in our lives and will miss her profoundly.

As per Laura's wishes, there will be no visitation, and burial will be private to the family. Friends and family are invited to attend a Home Going Celebration of Life Service for Laura, on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., at The Table Church at 1000 Crossroads Drive, Oakdale, PA 15071, (412) 494-9999. Arrangements are proudly entrusted to RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108. To leave a memory of Laura, please visit our website at: richarddcolefh.com

Hey guys, I'm so sorry I won't be able to celebrate Laura's life with you as I will be out of town. I can tell you all this. Laura from our days in customer service through the adventure of inside sales was one of my closest friends and companions. I always thought of her as my work wife because we spent so much time together. We talked about everything but she was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and her extended family. She never had a bad word about anyone and always lended an ear or hand to support or help anyone. She will always be in my heart as over the years I've seen her less. I loved her as a friend. She is someone very special and I will never forget her. The world was a better place with her here. God bless all of you. RIP Laura. Paradise is yours.

Love
