She was born on January 13, 1946, in Panama City and attended all Bay County schools, including St. Andrews Elementary, Jinks Middle, and Bay High School. She enjoyed gardening- whether flowers or vegetables, watching hummingbirds and bird watching. She loved spending time with family, attending gatherings, caring for her dog "Chili Pepper," and fishing and crabbing at St. Andrews Marina. She also cherished the charm and history of St Andrews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, William Nichols Strickland and Lura Lilla Strickland; life partner David Paul Pippin; infant twin daughters Mary and Marie Hoskins; infant grandchildren Zackary Rapoza, Brenna Ann Rapoza and Shelby Dawn Hoskins; sisters, Jean Denton, Betty Lou Strickland, Lilla Faye Heath, Martha Evelyn Locke, and Willie Mae 'Tynie' Ellis; brothers, George 'Buddy' Strickland, James Arthur 'Jimmy' Strickland, and William Nichols 'Nicky' Strickland Jr.
Those left to cherish Laura's memory include her daughter, Sherri Ann Doyle (Mike Doyle); son, Arthur Patrick "Pat" Hoskins; stepson, Christopher Donovan Pippin (Cyntha); grandchildren, Patricia Ann Flowers (Mike), Rebeckah Ann Wainright (Ricky Gibbins), Justin Earl Wainright (Jackie) and Caleb Marshall Rapoza; eight great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Laura's Life will be held at a later date.
