Laura Ann Paquin, 58, of Iron Mountain/Felch, MI passed from this life on Saturday, December 24 at Marshfield Clinic Health System in Iron Mountain after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Laura was born on July 10, 1964 in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Howard "Buster" and Lois (Oien) Kopp.
She was happily engaged to Brian Lavigne of Kingsford/Felch. Brian and Laura loved to spend time together listening to music, playing cribbage and attending music festivals.
Laura was employed as head teller at the Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Federal Credit Union for 35+ years. She loved to paint ceramics and has generously shared many beautiful pieces with her family.
She is survived by her fiancé, Brian Lavigne; daughters, Nicole Bilski of Iron Mountain and Megan Paquin of Aurora, WI; two grandchildren, Luke Machus and Ivy Witte; brother, Mike (Laurie) Kopp of Kingsford; sister, Mary Jo (Chet) Shields of Menasha, WI; and sister-in-law, Cathy (John Kopp) of Menominee, MI. Laura also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews that loved her very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joe Kopp and John Kopp.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs. Morel, Funtanilla, Friar and their staffs and the surgical floor at the hospital for their special care. We would also like to thank Sherri Dowdle Lauritson for the special time she was able to spend taking care of Laura and, of course, thanks to the Paquin family and all of Laura's friends for their love and support.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation.
Condolences may be expressed to the family of Laura Paquin online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
