Laura White Polhill, age 48, of Clewiston, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born October 12, 1973 in Tallahassee. Laura grew up in Clewiston, FL where she cheered for the Clewiston Tigers all through high school. After graduation in 1991, she moved to Gainesville, opened her first salon, and continued working in the cosmetology field for over 20 years. Laura eventually returned home to Clewiston to raise her family and was pursuing her degree in nursing. She was recently awarded the Hendry Regional WISH Scholarship and was on track to receive her degree in May of 2023. Laura was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had many accomplishments throughout her life but her greatest joy was raising her two children. Survivors include her children: Harrison Grant Polhill & Monroe Claire Polhill; her parents: Kingman White (Jenny) & Caroline Wiseman (Eddie); her siblings: Emily Kurtz (Jude), Elliott White (Paige) & Sara Lawson (Bryce); nephews: Michael Kurtz, Lawson Polhill & Corbin Polhill; and niece: Rachel Kurtz The family will be receiving guests at Akin Davis Funeral Home in Clewiston on Tuesday, September 6th at 5:00 p.m., with a memorial immediately following at 6:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Laura's honor to WISH at Hendry Regional Medical Center. You may send your donation to 544 West Sugarland Highway in Clewiston, FL

I knew Laura as a workmate and friend. I watched her carry two babies into the world that she loved deeply. I saw her overcome real life obstacles in order to make a better life for her children and her self. She was a determined honest and passionate person. Her children carry her inside them now. May the road ahead be all she dreamed for them. Peace dear Laura.
