Laura A. Rodriguez

Laura Ann Rodriguez, age 67, of Holcombe, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, after a courageous eight-year battle with colon cancer.
Laura was born on May 28, 1958, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, to Richard and Cathrine (Pickering) Varnak. She grew up in Dolton, Illinois, where she met the love of her life, Dennis Rodriguez. The two were married on August 2, 1975, in Dolton, Illinois, by Pastor Noel Clark Holt. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with six children.
In 2005, Laura and Dennis moved to Wisconsin, where Laura worked at the Burger King in Rice Lake, WI, before joining the Jennie-O Turkey Store in Barron. She dedicated over ten years to her work there before retiring in 2017 following her cancer diagnosis. For over eight years, Laura faced every treatment, every setback, and every moment of uncertainty with grace and faith. She never gave up, and she never lost her light. Her strength and spirit inspired everyone who knew her, and her courage will remain a lasting example of hope and love.
Laura is survived by her six children, Michelle (Brian) Dutcher of Chetek, WI, Melissa (Darryl) Henson of Portage, IN, Dennis (Katie) Rodriguez of Barron, WI, Melinda (Andy)
Kohls of Holcombe, WI, Anthony Rodriguez of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Mathew (Luis) Rodriguez of Holcombe, WI. She is also survived by her sisters, Denise Kowalcyk of Lansing, IL, and Sharron Crisman; ten grandchildren - Dominique, Dylan, Danielle, Jessica, Kayla, Vanessa, Isabella, Aylsa, Issac, and Noah; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Myles, Eli, Ella, and Olivia, whom she was so excited to meet.
Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Rodriguez; her parents, Richard and Cathrine Varnak; and her brother, John Varnak.
Laura's strength, kindness, and love will be remembered forever by all who knew her.
Per Laura's final wishes, a public service will not be held.
