Laura Pauline McElvany Summarell
September 19, 1935 – January 17, 2026

Laura Pauline McElvany Summarell, lovingly known as “Mama” and “Granny” to her family and “Polly” to friends, passed away peacefully in her home on January 17, 2026, surrounded by the people she cherished most her four children.

Born on September 19, 1935, to Cora McElvany and Millard McElvany, Pauline lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unforgettable spirit. She was a bright light of joy to everyone who knew her and, as she would proudly tell you, “everyone loved her to death.”

She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Charles Summarell with whom she shared 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2002. Their unique love story was the foundation of the family she so deeply treasured.

She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and the heart of her family. She especially loved NASCAR races and cherished her family above all else, particularly her children. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

She is survived by her children:
• Shelley Wetherbee and spouse Dr. Charles Wetherbee
• Randall Summarell and spouse Sandy Summarell
• Rene Fulton and spouse Juan Fulton
• Tammy Stengel and spouse Perry Stengel,

all of Weatherford, Texas.

She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, carrying forward a long and beautiful legacy of love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Charles Summarell her parents, Cora and Millard McElvany; her brothers, Larry McElvany and Don David McElvany; and her great-granddaughter, Morgan Wetherbee.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Azle & Lake Worth Funeral Home, located at 850 North Cardinal Road, Azle, Texas 76020.

Floral arrangements are being handled by Special Impressions in Weatherford, Texas.
