*****OBITUARY SUBMITTED BY THE FAMILY
Laura Whitaker, age 47, passed from this life on August 3, 2024 at her home in Milton, KY. She was the daughter of Regina Rand.
Laura was born on January 11, 1977 in Madison, IN. She was baptized into Bedford Christian Church. Laura was a 1995 graduate of Trimble County High School and a 1999 graduate from Hanover College where she earned a degree in Business Administration.
Laura had a long and successful career at the Farmers Bank of Milton, where at the time of her passing she was the Vice President/Senior Lender. She was chosen to walk in the Survivors Parade at the Kentucky Oaks and had just recently earned her Master Cattleman's designation.
Whatever touched her boys' lives or benefited the community, Laura was all in. When her boys were younger, she helped lead the Milton Cub Scout Pack 144 and Boy Scout Troop 146. While they were in school, she served as an officer for the Milton Elementary PTO and the treasurer for the Trimble County Youth Football League, and also helped organize the Trimble County Project Prom.
Laura was an active and enthusiastic member of her community, as she volunteered for Relay for Life, and served on the Trimble County Family Resource Advisory Council and the Trimble County Foundation for Educational Excellence board. She loved working with the Trimble County 4H Livestock Club, and recently was very proud to have helped create the Friends of the Blue and Gold football booster club.
Most of all, Laura cherished her family and spending time with loved ones. She was a strong and constant figure in her family and community, as she approached anything she did with joy, optimism, and purpose. Laura inspired many with her courage, enriching the lives of those who knew her well and anyone she encountered.
