Raymond Augustus Walters, age 96, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Christian Care Communities in Louisville. Born October 4, 1929 in Paducah, Kentucky, he was the son of Louis A. and Josephine (Roetteis) Walters.

Mr. Walters retired from The Kroger Company after forty-five years of service. He was a meat cutter, head meat cutter, and then worked in store management. After retiring from Kroger, he worked as funeral coach driver for Greater Louisville Limousine Service for thirteen years, driving a funeral coach for several funeral homes in the Kentuckiana area.

He served his Lord as a member of the First Baptist Church in Middletown, Kentucky where he was a Deacon Emeritus, and was a thirty-second-degree member of the Free and Accepted Masons. His hobbies included fishing and hunting.

His surviving family includes two sons and daughters-in-law: Ray and Carol Walters, and Gary and Kristine Walters, all of Louisville; one daughter, Carolyn Brown of Versailles, Kentucky; one brother, Joe Walters of Louisville; nine grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, the former Glenna Jetter, to whom he was married on February 19, 1948, and who preceded him in death on June 13, 2017; two sisters, two brothers, one grandson, Matthew Walters, and one great granddaughter, Kaitlin Walters.

The Reverend Dr. Jim Cobban will officiate the funeral services.
