Laurel Gray

Laurel L. Gray, 68, of Cumberland died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 12, 1956, in Baraboo, WI to Merrill and Beatrice (Halloway) Meltz, and grew up in the Dells and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School. She was married in Briggsville, WI on April 27, 1974, to Donald Gray. Laurel worked hard maintaining the family home and caring for their children. In 1992, she and Don purchased the Ben Franklin store in Cumberland, which they operated together until
2007, when they sold the store and she took a job at DCA, where she has worked since.
Laurel enjoyed golf and socializing, but she really loved to run long-distance (15 miles every weekend - 52 weeks a year) an activity she was still enjoying this spring. When she wasn't enjoying these activities, she could be found basking in the sun for
hours at a time.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Don; two sons, Donald "Zach" and Nat; two brothers, Merrill and Chuck; four sisters, Dee, Agnes, Mary, and Angie; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland from 2:00 - 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 10.
