Laurel Henderson of Webster, Massachusetts passed away September 5, 2025, while traveling in Ireland. The daughter of Robert and Marcella (Hopkins) Henderson, Laurel was born on October 1, 1952, in Whitinsville. She graduated with the class of 1970 from Northbridge High School and in 1974 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She was a teacher at Killingly Central School in Danville, Connecticut for 40 years.

Laurel was fiercely independent, loved her yoga classes, daily walks at Webster Lake and being near any ocean. She loved Spring when things were newly greening and detested the early darkness that came with the end of daylight savings time. She enjoyed swimming and travel, especially to the National Parks, and had traveled widely throughout the United States and several countries.

Laurel is survived by her sister, Diane Myers, of Miami, and her three nephews: Douglas and his family of Gainesville, Florida; Christopher and his family of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Stephen and his family of Miami, Florida. She was proud of her nephews and their spouses and always interested in the activities of her six grand nephews and one grand niece. Laurel is also survived by a host of teacher friends, yoga friends, cousins and neighbors, as well as her longtime friends Barbara Thompson of Spencer and Melissa Powers of Rutland. She will be missed, most especially by her sister, Diane, with whom she shared many adventures.
