Lauren Hoefer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Biglin's Mortuary - O'Neill on Feb. 15, 2026.
Funeral Services for Lauren Hoefer, age 41, of O'Neill will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the O'Neill Community Center in O'Neill. Rev. Robert Wynn will officiate. Burial will follow in the O'Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the O'Neill Community Center with a 7 pm Prayer Service. Lauren lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 14, 2026 with her family by her side. Lauren's family requests casual attire and suggests Leprechaun Youth Sports and O'Neill Eagle gear. Memorials may be directed to her family for future designation. Arrangements are entrusted to Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill.

Lauren Dawn Kloppenborg was born on May 12, 1984 in Atkinson to Kirby and Kathy (Hofferber) Kloppenborg. She was raised in Emmet and attended elementary school at District 20 in Emmet. From the age of 11 through high school, Lauren worked every summer, alongside her grandpa, father, uncles, and cousins in the hay field putting up hay. She graduated from O'Neill High School in 2002.

Lauren married Bryan Hoefer on May 17, 2008 at the Methodist Church in O'Neill. To this union, three children were born: Alana, Lane, and Rylan. The couple lived for 5 years in Grand Junction, Colorado until returning to O'Neill in 2011. Lauren worked for O'Neill Family Eye Care and Wakefield Insurance before she decided to open her home as a daycare center in 2018. She truly loved caring for her children and spoiled them endlessly.

In December of 2023, Lauren was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma and began the battle that eventually claimed her life.

She was a member of the O'Neill Methodist Church, O'Neill Eagle Boosters, and was basically the team mom for the O'Neill Eagle Wrestling team and Leprechaun Youth Sports Wrestling. She was always there to help out with any of the behind-the-scenes tasks that help the groups run smoothly.

Lauren loved to go camping with the Yankton Yahoos and spend time on her boat. She rarely missed an O'Neill Eagle Football or Wrestling event. When she was home, she enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her family, especially her children.

Lauren is survived by her husband of 17 years, Bryan Hoefer of O'Neill; their three children, Alana Hoefer of O'Neill, Lane Hoefer of O'Neill, and Rylan Hoefer of O'Neill; her parents, Kirby and Kathy Kloppenborg of Emmet; her brother, Zachary (Mariel) Kloppenborg of Omaha; her nephew, Marvin Kloppenborg; her paternal grandmother, Jackie Kloppenborg; her father-in-law, Dennis (Judy Stauffer) Hoefer of Amelia; her mother-in-law, Sandy (Bill Donohoe) Hoefer of O'Neill; her sister-in-law, Candace (Tony) Mrsny of Waverly; her nieces, Chloe and Tahya Mrsny; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loren and Margie Hofferber, Don Kloppenborg; and her uncle, Marty Kloppenborg.
