Wanda Kallhoff

A Funeral Mass for Wanda Kallhoff, age 84, of O'Neill will be at 10:30 am Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill, Nebraska. Burial will follow in the O'Neill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 pm. Wanda passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Edgewood Care Facility in Norfolk, Nebraska. Memorials may be designated to her family for future designation. Wanda Ilene Thelander was born October 18, 1941 in Orchard, Nebraska to Charles and Ione (Ickler) Thelander. She grew up and attended school in Orchard. She met the love of her life, Ted Kallhoff at a little ice cream shop on main street in Orchard and they married on February 3, 1959 in Plainview, Nebraska. They made their home in Omaha and after a few years moved to the family farm south of O'Neill where they raised their family. They farmed and raised livestock through the years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Wanda was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother and there was always a seat at her table for anyone dropping by to visit and eat her delicious food. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was a staple at all of their activities. She was a baton majorette in high school and continued that love through teaching baton to many girls in the surrounding towns for many years. She loved dancing, Husker football, and was known to have thrown some great parties. Wanda was always the friendly face that so many people came to love. She will be greatly missed.

Wanda is survived by one son, Gary Kallhoff of Bloomfield, NE; three daughters, Tammy McCormack of Dorchester, NE, Joanie Holz and husband Russ of Blair, NE, and Angie Allen and husband Tony of O'Neill, NE; 14 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; one sister, Lorene White of Norfolk, NE; special friend, Rick Borer of Atkinson, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ted; her parents, Charles and Ione Thelander; two stepdad's, Lawrence Luber and Clarence Reefe; one brother, Larry Thelander.
