Laurence (Larry) James Brower
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away March 23rd, 2023. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho September 20th, 1936, to Arthur Wayne and Edith Jeanette Drake Brower. He was the fourth child, the baby of the family, with one older brother and two older sisters.
He spent his childhood growing up and attending school in Pocatello, Idaho. Upon graduation from high school in 1955, he was not sure what he wanted to do. After filling out some paperwork with the unemployment office he was told they had an opening for a chainman with an engineering company. This was the beginning of his lifelong career as a Land Surveyor. He continued to work in southern Idaho until 1959. He went to look for work in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he continued his career. While in Salt Lake City he met and married Linda Mae Cropper on June 25th, 1960. On March 10th, 1966, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Over the next several years as he continued his surveying career, they raised a family of seven, five boys and two girls. With his family he enjoyed fishing and camping. He also loved cars, talking about cars, working on cars, shopping for cars, and attending car shows with family members. He was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 1989 he found it necessary to relocate for work, so he moved his wife and the three youngest children to Las Vegas, Nevada. He continued working as a land surveyor until he retired in the fall of 2007. After a 52 ½ year career as a land surveyor, he moved his wife back to the family home in Kearns, Utah, where they both lived out their retirement years until his passing.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda and his seven children Kevin (Stephanie) Brower of Spokane WA, Ken (Shelli) Brower of South Jordan UT, Kory (Mel) Brower of Kearns UT, Kim (Becky) Brower of Kearns UT, Kurt (Anna) Brower of West Valley City UT, Kristie (Dave) McCallum of Las Vegas NV, Karen (Gary) Manuel of West Valley City UT, his 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and his older sister Carol Lee Buckley of Idaho Falls ID.
He is having a celebration reunion in heaven with his parents Arthur Wayne and Edith Jeanette Brower, sister Jean (Royce) Stauffer, and brother Ronnie (Louise) Brower.
