Laurette Madsen Obituary

Laurette Lucille Madsen, beloved mother, wife and friend, went peacefully home to be face to face with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 30th, 2025 at the age of 73.

She was a woman of deep faith whose life reflected her love for Jesus in all that she did. Her trust in Him guided her decisions, shaped her kindness, and gave her strength in every season of life.

Laurette never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for helping others by elevating them through Christ. With her warm smile and genuine heart, she touched countless lives, especially through her work with the Good News Club in both Central and North Texas where she founded local branches and taught countless children about God each afternoon after school.

Her compassion and generosity were evident in the way she served others - whether through her professional career, church, her community, or her amazing harmonious voice at church and weddings or in her favorite space in the home, the kitchen. She absolutely loved sharing her passion for life through her cooking and baking.

Above all, she was a devoted wife to David and mother to their children. Their marriage was an example of enduring love that started as high school sweethearts in the late 1960's and was rooted in faith. She successfully created a home that was filled with lasting love, warmth, spirit, grace, values and a legacy now carried on by her children and grandchildren.

She was born on June 12th, 1952 in Harlingen, Texas and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, where she graduated from Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas. She spent many years putting smiles on faces with several banks in the McAllen area, hosting Tupperware parties as a sales manager and spent a lengthy time with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in McAllen. In the mid 1990's, they relocated to the Texas Hill Country (Wimberley, Texas) before settling down over the last decade in Granbury, Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, David C. Madsen, Jr. her children, Conrad (Aubrey) Madsen III and Amanda (Clayton) Armenta, and grandchildren Mary Palmer Madsen, Conrad Madsen IV "Four", Madysen Armenta and McKenzye Armenta along with her younger siblings Sharon Woody, Kevin Fiebig, Dallas Fiebig, and Mark Stephens, all of Texas who will all continue to be inspired by her example of faith, kindness, and love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.

A celebration of her life will be held at Acton Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas on September 20th at 3pm, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship - Greater Fort Worth Chapter in North Richland Hills, Texas continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Yesterday

My oldest sister. How time passes so quickly and robs us all. Being her brother I have a long memory of times we shared together. I remember her 1968 green mustang how cool it was to ride in it. Coming to visit my Grandma and Aunt when I was living there and singing into my portable cassette player. The song More and I Won't Last A Day Without You were two of her favorites. My sister would belly dance as any professional when she was a teen. The twist? Chubby Checker would have been jealous!
We had good long talks in later years on the phone as we no longer lived close by. We cooked and baked when she came to visit. Shared recipes.
I will miss her since of humor and that laugh I can hear as I write this.
I will cherish the videos I have of her and he memories they bring.
Whatever the question, love will always be the answer.
I will always love you and keep you in my heart.
Until I see you again
