Lauri Ann Bastian-Smith

Lauri Ann Bastian-Smith, a kind, and loving, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, died on Thursday, February 20, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Lauri, 55, of Portland, was born on December 3, 1970, in Lansing, the daughter of David and Luann (Destrempes) Bastian. She was a proud owner of Lauri's Cleaning for 20 plus years. Many will remember Lauri for always being willing to crack a joke and her ability to always making things better for others around her. On February 7, 2025, she married Brian Smith, who together have shared the last 17 years creating many memories. Hobbies that she enjoyed included knitting, searching for rocks on the beaches of the U.P., the annual family fishing trip to Fletcher Pond, and most importantly, being around her children.
Lauri is survived by her husband, Brian; children, Dominic, Meadow, and Daisy Martinez; father, David Bastian; brothers, James and John Bastian; and her beloved puppy, Luna. She was predeceased by her son, Zachary Bastian; and her mother, Luann Bastian.
