Martha “Laurie” Williams, 67, of Ravenel, South Carolina, loving wife of Richard “Bubba” Williams passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Born on December 2, 1956, in Endicott, New York, Laurie was the daughter of the late Robert G. Randall and Janet Strait Randall. Laurie’s Dad worked for IBM and was transferred to Albany, Ga. where He and Janet raised their family of five children.The Randall family were members of Avalon Methodist Church in Albany and Laurie’s life revolved around church activities at Avalon Methodist Church. She spoke fondly of her time at church where she was a member of youth groups, attended church camps and made lifelong friends.
Laurie was a 1974 graduate of Albany High School in Albany, Ga where she was a member of the school band. After graduating from high school, Laurie attended Albany Technical School and afterwards was employed at Engineering and Equipment Company in Albany where she met her future husband Bubba while working there and the two married on September 17, 1977. They relocated to Charleston, SC in 1978 where Bubba was employed by Cameron & Barkley Co. and Laurie was employed by Marbut Company.
Laurie recently retired as the Area Office Administrator from Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics where she was employed for 32 years.
Laurie spent her free time loving and taking care of her three grandsons, spoiling them as much as possible.
Laurie is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert Randall and David Randall.
Laurie is survived by her husband Bubba, her sons Richard R. Williams (Michelle) and Shaun B. Williams (Jillianne), her grandsons Brady Lee, Dylan Piper and Cade Brandon, her sister Angela Randall Vail (Charles), her brother Dennis Randall (Diana), her sisters-in-law Linda Randall and Sharon Randall, and many other beloved relatives and friends.
Visitation with the family will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, and the service will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at Riverbluff Church, 5421 Riverbluff Parkway in North Charleston, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Autism Awareness charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or love offering to Riverbluff Church in Laurie’s name at riverbluff.org
