Lavell Murphy, of Lewisville, TX passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Highland Village, TX. Lavell was born in Mullen, TX to Earl J. and Era Mae Davis in 1933. She graduated from Big Spring High School and Howard College School of Nursing where she obtained her nursing degree.
She worked as a Nurse for 35 years in Big Spring, TX. After retiring from Nursing, she became a realtor. She was a member of the Texas State Realtors Association. She was a member of Northview Baptist Church in Lewisville, TX. Lavell loved her Lord, her family and her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She resided at Lewisville Estates in Lewisville, TX where she had many friends. She enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together which enabled her to socialize with her friends.
Lavell is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Murphy, her parents, Earl and Era Mae Davis, three brothers, Grover N. Davis, James Darrell Davis and Arless Davis and nieces Tandra Bulkely and Linda Braley.
Lavell is survived by two children, A son, Randy Burchell and wife Sherry Burchell of Abilene and daughter, Kim Dean and husband Tony Dean of Flower Mound, 5 grandchildren, Kyle Dean and wife Tara, Zachary Dean, and wife Elizabeth, Jennifer Dean and partner Michelle Sanders, Londi Wynkoop and husband John, and Stevie Burchell. She was blessed with 4 great grandchildren, Kinsley, Colson, Reese and Eli Dean.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, September 14 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home with the minister, Kenneth Wells of Northview Baptist Church officiating. A burial at Restland Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Mulkey Mason Funeral Home.
The family of Lavell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Merit Hospice and Rambling Oaks Extensive Care Center.
