Bruce John Murphy

Bruce John Murphy, age 65, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Berlin, Maryland. Born on May 19, 1960, in Iselin, New Jersey, he was the son of the late William Murphy and Marion (Davies) Murphy.

Bruce and his wife, Margaret, were married for 33 years. He worked for GBI Inc, Wrightstown NJ from 1987 until he retired in 2022. He recently had a part-time job at Assateague Greens in Berlin, which he enjoyed. He enjoyed playing golf for many years with his brothers, Bill and Jeff and good friend Ron at Tamarac Golf Club in East Brunswick, NJ. For 25 years he traveled down to Myrtle Beach, SC with the Goldsmith gang for golf. For 10 years after that they traveled from NJ to Ocean City MD. His sweet spot was his golden retrievers. They kept a smile on his face and they were devoted to him. He enjoyed listening to live music at the venues around Berlin and Ocean City. He will be missed by many and was loved by all that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Murphy; brothers, Jeffery Murphy (Loretta) and Douglas Murphy; sister, Rebecca Murphy Romanot. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers-in-law, John Lewis (Lisa Mulligan) and Bob Lewis (Debi), and sisters-in-law, Mary-Jo Lewis, Kathleen Lewis (Phoebe Moore), Debbie Murphy, and Theresa Lewis (Jospeh Horan). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Murphy; and brother-in-law, Albert Romanot.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at The Burbage Funeral Home located at 108 William Street in Berlin, MD, at 12 pm, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin, MD.
