1952 - 2023

Of Cottage Grove, MN Was born July 3, 1952 in Preston, MN to Francis Theodore Timp and Eileen Madonna (Timp) Schiltgen. On January 7, 2023, while surrounded by family, LaVern peacefully went to be with the Lord, after a nearly 2-year battle with leukemia. Preceded in death by his dad Francis; nephew Troy; great-nephew Shane; and brothers-in-law Dave, Stuart, and Troy. Survived by wife Margaret; daughters, Teri & Shawn; mother Eileen; brothers Jerome, Raphael, Mike and Perri; sisters, Lynn, Fran, and Wanda; nieces, Vanessa & Valene who he raised as his children; grandchildren, Duane, Andrew, and Alex; and great-grandchild Evelynn. Also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. LaVern was an extremely intelligent man of many words. He loved to tell stories about his experiences and share the knowledge he'd acquired throughout his lifetime. He loved spending time at the farm, going on road trips with the love of his life, and sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee to talk about the latest conspiracy theories. In accordance with LaVern's wishes, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. He expressed many times that he did not want people to be sad about his passing, as he knew that he was going to be with the Lord. He hoped that when people missed him, they would get together and exchange happy/funny memories that they shared with him.
