Laverne Ihm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harder Funeral Home - Brookfield on Oct. 11, 2025.
Laverne "Vern" C. Ihm of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, died peacefully, surrounded by family on October 10th, 2025. The son of the late Frank Adam Ihm and Bernice Katherine (née Droeszler) Ihm, he was born May 10, 1933 in Louisburg, Wisconsin.
Vern was a passionate follower of Jesus. He served the Lord faithfully throughout his life in many capacities: first, as a Catholic priest, and later as a husband, father, grandfather, mentor and volunteer. He held many occupations throughout his life, including work in public relations, finance and business. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his willingness to help others, sacrificial giving, positive attitude and thankful heart. He had a lifetime love of reading and studying the Word of God. He was usually smiling, quick to make a joke, always ready to encourage those around him, and never turned down ice cream (especially butter pecan).
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn "Jean" Ihm, daughter and son-in-law Carla and Tony Meister, and grandson, Luke Meister, siblings LeRoy (Bernice) Ihm, Floyd (Beverly) Ihm, Mary Ann Ihm, Eugene (Carol) Ihm, Raymond (Sheri) Ihm, Francis (Marilyn) Ihm, Mark (Julie) Ihm, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. His parents and brothers Earl Ihm, Dale (Lynette) Ihm, Paul Ihm, and Vincent Ihm preceded him in death. The family would like to give special thanks to dear friend Gail Reimer, the LaSage family, the church family at Uplink Ministries, caregivers, Heather Laabs and Heart 2 Heart In Home Care, and the staff at Froedtert Hospital.
Funeral services to celebrate his life and homegoing will be held at Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. The visitation will take place at 1:00 PM with the service at 2:00 PM. A dinner will be held immediately following at the American Legion Banquet Hall, Post #449, 3245 N. 124th Street, Brookfield, Wisconsin. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vern and Jean's home church, Uplink Ministries.
