Lawrence Atkins Obituary

CAMDEN, Tenn. - Lawrence Gipson Atkins, 96, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Mr. Atkins was born June 2, 1927 in Corinth to the late Eugene Atkins and the late Kate Hardin Atkins.

He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He graduated from Mississippi State University and worked for TVA for 38 years. He earned his M.B.A.from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and was also a salesman for Allstate Insurance.

Survivors are daughters: Karen (Timothy) Anderson of Huntsville, Ala.; Jennifer (Brent) Hedge of Camden, Tenn.; Sister: Sarah Cooper of Pensacola, Fla.: Grandchildren: Lauren (Zach) Skinner of Spanish Fort, Ala.; Amanda Anderson of Madison, Ala.; Allison (Patrick) Toomey of Hoover, Ala.;Sam (Bayli) Hedge of Camden,Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Grace Cruse Atkins; brother, Howard Atkins; brother, Edwin Atkins; sister, Eugenia Winner; and nephew, John Cooper.
