It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence Benjamin Brountie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on October 22, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 22, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Lawrence lived a life filled with dedication, service, and love.
Lawrence was a proud veteran of the United States Army, embodying the values of duty and honor throughout his life. After his military service, he pursued a career in the automotive industry as an electrician at Detroit Diesel, where he was known for his skill and unwavering work ethic. Lawrence was a man who took great pride in providing for his family, and his craftsmanship was admired by his colleagues and friends alike.
Lawrence is survived by his cherished wife, Helen Brountie, and his loving children and grandchildren, who were a source of great joy and pride in his life. He will be remembered for his warm smile, his infectious laughter, and his deep commitment to his family and community. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we mourn the loss of Lawrence, we reflect on the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our memories. May he rest in peace.
