Lawrence “Do Do” Charpentier, 91, native and resident of Cut Off, LA, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rosemary A. Charpentier; children, Linton Charpentier (Gwen), Elizabeth Chugden (Robert), Robert Charpentier (Melanie), John Charpentier (Dodi); 16 grandchildren, Danielle, Tiffany, Christopher, Ian, Rustie, Matthew, Ryan, Lauren, Brittney, Paul, Luke, Michael, Taylor, Joshua, Mark, Jake; 23 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Elizabeth, Ryken, Sophia, Rance, Julianne, Cole, Lucy, Ronney, Beau, Kason, Olivia, Lucy, Alice, River, Zachary, Owen, Payton, Beau, Sophie, Parker, Adriane, Henry; brother, Steven Charpentier; son-in-law, Todd Bernard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roseluce and Viola Eymard Charpentier; daughter, Julie Bernard; great-granddaughter, Audrey Grace; siblings, Henry Charpentier, Alvin Charpentier, Doris Guidry and son-in-law, Robert Plaisance.
Lawrence was a 4th degree Knight, member of the Holy Name Society and served as an Acolyte at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a volunteer firefighter. He was a shrimper as well as worked in the oilfield and a cattleman.
He enjoyed collecting and giving knives, pots and pans. He was a farmer who loved his citrus trees, chickens, cattle and above all working and riding his tractors.
