Lawrence A. Cordier, Sr., of Mogadore, Ohio, passed away March 11, 2025 at the age of 80. He was born in Akron, Ohio on September 25, 1944 to the late Merl and Faye Cordier. Also preceding him in death was his son, Lawrence A. Cordier, Jr. in 2015; sisters, Marilyn Cordier and Barbara Hodson; and brother, Ronald Cordier.
Lawrence’s calling was becoming a teacher and a profession at which he was extremely accomplished, he truly believed in guiding and enlightening every student and building a strong foundation for their futures. After investing himself unselfishly, he retired from the Akron Public Schools with 32 years of dedication. Very much a car enthusiast, he enjoyed drag racing, Nascar, car shows, and muscle cars. He enjoyed camping and gardening.
His memory will forever be cherished by those who survive; his wife of 57 years, Jean Cordier; daughter, Jackie (Timothy) Workman; grandchildren, Andrew and Scott Workman; sister, Sandy Zimmerman; and many extended family members.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Hecker-Patron Funeral Home, Uniontown. The service for Lawrence will be Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Forest Greetham will officiate. Interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Akron.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Suffield Fire Department.
