I was lucky to work with Larry at UMass for a couple of years before his retirement. He was one of the most dedicated employees I have ever met. Even though he had to deal with a lot of issues including Guinness record setting food preparations, summer camps, housing issues, dining operations and student cookouts etc. he always handled it with good cheer and calmness. I got to go on inspections with him (to try and fill his shoes when he left) dealing with pests, food allergies, housing complaints and even the operation of the Zamboni machines and it was always interesting. He was known by all on campus and was generally appreciated by everyone for his guidance and demeanor. My condolences to his family and friends. I hope he has caught a good wave this time and rides it well.

Kelley and I were very sorry to have heard of the passing of Larry, and to his entire family we offer our deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working with Larry for 13 years in the office of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was a truly dedicated professional who strived hard to maintain health and sanitation across campus, as well as for towns in the communities around the University when asked. He did his work with both strength of knowledge and engaging personality. Larry was dedicated and extremely nice to work with. It would have been fitting for him to have enjoyed a significantly longer retirement to share with his family and friends, but we are sure he was called upon to serve additional important roles.

Larry was a wonderful guy and, as stated in the obit, he always had a positive spirit. He one of my best employees at UMASS and was well liked by those that faced his public health compliance visits, including earth foods. He was firm but caring and respectful. I had the privilege of visiting him in rehab and he was cheerful and we had a time of prayer together. He had a strong faith and knew that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Condolences to Bonnie and the family. God bless

Larry was a delight to know. Always a smile on his face and a positive attitude. He loved his family and the outdoors where he could enjoy all his many hobbies and recreational pursuits. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace dear Larry.

Sending my condolences to the family.
Larry was a very kind man , he was a gym friend to me. We always chatted about kayaking or hiking while on the treadmill or Eliptical machine.
He will be missed .

I offer my sincere condolences to Bonnie, Julia, Jack and his entire family. I was so sad to hear that Larry had passed away. I have known Larry for a long time and without any doubt he was the nicest and kindest man I have ever known! "Life is good" and Larry made it a nicer and brighter place for all of us.
