It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lawrence I. Duncan Sr. "Larry" of Nashville, IN on May 13, 2023.
Lawrence was born in 1941 to the son of Irvin and Rebecca Duncan of Monticello, Ky. He was married in 1961 to Kathy (Rose) Redelman of Greensburg, for 62 years.
Lawrence was a retiree from Golden Castings Operation of 36 years, from 1967 to 2003. He was also an avid tobacco farmer from 1974 to 2003. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and spending time with his beloved family in Kentucky.
Lawrence is preceded in death by both parents, Irvin and Rebecca Duncan; brothers, Cleo, Theo, and Ronald Duncan, all from Kentucky; Bill McCarter of Greensburg; and his first-born child Tina Louise Duncan.
Survivors include his spouse, Kathy (Rose) Duncan of Nashville; sister, Delta L. Duncan of Monticello, KY; sons, Lawrence (Melissa) Duncan of Nashville, Tony Duncan of Columbus, Thomas (Peggy) Duncan of Nashville; daughter, Lisa (Ron) Taylor of Nashville; grandchildren, Mikel, Matthew, Anthony, Autumn, Kayla, Anthony Jr., Tina, Thomas, and Joshua; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Please join us in a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. on May 19, 2023, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Larrison officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. The burial will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Lawrence was loved deeply and will be missed terribly.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
