Lawrence M. Duncanson, Jr., affectionately known as "Skeeter," passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, the city of his birth. He was 76 years old.
Born on December 14, 1948, in Norfolk, Skeeter spent his life in the community he loved. He worked diligently as a Supervisor for Dominion Power, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues. His contributions and dedication to his work were deeply appreciated by his Dominion Power family.
Skeeter had a zest for life and a passion for the simple joys. He found great solace in fishing, spending many serene hours by the water. A die-hard Commanders fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team. Social at heart, Skeeter enjoyed meeting friends for lunch and drinks, often frequenting AJ Gators, where laughter and camaraderie were always on the menu.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence M. Duncanson, Sr., and Betty Freeman; brother, Bruce Duncanson. Skeeter leaves behind a loving and devoted family, including his girlfriend, Linda B. Biondie; step-brother, Allen Freeman and wife, Sandy, Jeffrey Freeman; nephews, Jeffrey R. Freeman, Jr., along with his girlfriend Nichole "Nikki" Travis, and Timothy J. "T.J." Freeman and his best friends, Gary and Terri Chamberlain. His extended family at Dominion Power also mourns his passing.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date as we gather to celebrate Skeeter's life and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
Rest in peace, Skeeter.
