LOWVILLE - Lawrence A. Haggerty, 74, town of Watson. Larry passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown.
Larry was born August 23, 1949 in Lowville the son of Winfred Acil Haggerty and Aletha Marjory Crouse Haggerty. He graduated from Lowville Academy Central School in 1968. He was employed at Climax Manufacturing as a machine tender working at the Castorland and Lowville plants where he retired in 2009 after 38 years of service.
He is survived by two brothers, Wayne (Ann) Haggerty of Conover NC; Jim (Deanna) Haggerty of Concord NC; and a sister Patricia (Paul) Wheeler of Copenhagen. He is also survived by a sister in law Judy (Tom) Glenn of Lowville, a brother in law, Thomas Briot of Croghan, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Larry is predeceased by his parents, a brother Winfred W. Haggerty, two sisters & a brother in law Shirley A. Briot and Mary L. Lyndaker & Olin Lyndaker, and two nephews.
Larry enjoyed bowling in leagues at Lewis Lanes and golfing for many years. He was a member of Cedar's Golf Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting most of his life. In recent years he enjoyed watching the deer, squirrels & birds in his yard.
Per his wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Beaches Bridge Cemetery on September 6th, at 1:00 P.M.
