Lawrence Howell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown's Funeral Home - Plainfield on Mar. 6, 2026.
Lawrence Howell, a man whose life was characterized by his unwavering commitment to his family and his love for simple pleasures, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on August 24, 1959 in Summit, NJ, Lawrence's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of his late parents, John Howell and Mildred McNair.

The Howell family, a tight-knit group, experienced the warmth of Lawrence's bond with them throughout his life. Though he was predeceased by his parents and his mother-in-law, Louvenia Spooner, Lawrence's legacy continues through his beloved wife, Corinthia Howell, and their four sons, Lawrence Ashe, Kassim Howell, Altyleek Howell, and Kareem Howell. His presence will also be deeply missed by his father-in-law, John Spooner, whom he held in great esteem.

Lawrence's siblings, Jackie, John Anthony, Ray, and Charles Howell, shared in the many cherished memories that were created over the years. His sisters, Cassandra Malagna, Shelly Love, and Mildred McNair, will remember him as a protective and caring brother. His aunts, Lulu Connors and Geri McNair, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will fondly recall the joy and laughter he brought into their lives.

Professionally, Lawrence spent many fulfilling years as a landscaper, employed by Roy Landry. His work demonstrated his incredible work ethic. His colleagues knew him as a man of integrity and dedication.

Beyond his work, Lawrence was a man of diverse interests. He had a natural talent for shooting pool, playing darts, and was always up for a game of frisbee with his sons. His competitive spirit was matched by his playfulness and love for bonding over these activities. An avid gamer, Lawrence found joy and relaxation in video games, which remained one of his favorite hobbies throughout his life.

Lawrence Howell's life was a testament to the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of living a life filled with activities that bring happiness. The world has indeed lost a remarkable man in Lawrence Howell. His departure leaves behind a void that will be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
