Lawrence Lee Johnson (Larry) was born January 27, 1942, in Van Nuys, California, to Oscar Dean Johnson of Oklahoma and Frances Lela Colbert Johnson of North Dakota. Larry was a gifted violin player as a child and was featured on the radio and several local television shows. He was a good student and received his degree in Engineering from CSU Northridge before briefly serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was married for 15 years and had two daughters. He raised his family in Canoga Park, Thousand Oaks, and the United Kingdom. Later in life, Larry branched out professionally into computer science and real estate, often mentoring others. He cared for his ailing mother when the time came, was active in his church as an assistant deacon and sound engineer, and kept himself busy with home projects.
After 83 years of life, he was called home to God on October 6, 2025. He will lie in rest near his parents at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth.
Larry is survived by his daughter Vanessa Johnson of Canoga Park, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Scott Singleton of Sunland, sister and brother-in-law Carole and Paul Dickson of Washington State, niece Dani Dickson of Washington State, and niece Heather Miller of Tennessee.
