Lawrence Kades Obituary
Born in Harrisburg on April 6, 1940, Larry was the loving son to the late Robert and Edith Kades (nee Freedman).
Upon graduating Governor Mifflin, Sr High School in 1958, Larry went on to the University of Pennsylvania before starting his business as a financial planner.
Larry was a devoted husband of 42 years to the late Gail Kades (nee Weiss) who passed in 2005, dear father to Joel Kades (Jennifer), Howard Kades (Meredith), Eric Kades, and Elizabeth Richter (Jordan), grandfather to Alexander, Skye, Maya, Mirella, Zachary, Griffin, Ryder, and Lily, brother to the late Sam Kades and brother-in-law to Sandy Kades, the late Jay Weiss and Candy Weiss.
On Thursday, March 12, 2026 there will be a graveside service at 1:30 pm at Tiferet Bet Israel Cemetery of Plymouth Meeting, 350 Fairfield Rd.Guests are asked to park in the parking lot and walk to the gravesite.
Shiva will be held at Larry's daughter, Elizabeth's home on Thursday, March 12th starting at 4pm and again on Friday, March 13th from 11 am until 4 pm.
Donations in Larry's memory can be made to ALS Hope Foundation, 219 N. Broad St.- 7th Fl., P.O. Box 40777, Phila. PA 19107; or to the ALS Association of Greater Phila., 321 Norristown Road- Suite 260, Ambler PA 19002.
Services to the family are entrusted to Boyd Horrox Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton.
