With great love and respect we announce the passing of Lawrence "Larry" Kaschmitter who went to be with his Beloved Savior Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Larry was the eldest son and third oldest of six children born to Joseph M. and Leona S. Kaschmitter on June 10, 1946, in Grangeville, Idaho. Growing up on the ranch, he developed a love for family and animals as well as a strong work ethic. After playing basketball at and graduating from Grangeville High School, he attended the University of Idaho on a basketball scholarship, graduating in 1969. He began his career as a finance manager later earning his CPA. He started his career at Morrison Knudsen, moved to Becon/Bechtel/PG&E, and finished with Cogentrix. He retired after a fulfilling career that took him and his family all over the U.S. and he formed many lifelong friendships, that he greatly cherished.
Larry's pride and joy was his family. He and his wife, Nancy raised three daughters to be strong and confident women. He loved attending his daughters' sporting events and later events for his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing basketball on the church league, playing tennis in the neighborhood league, Lake Conroe, woodworking, and working on engines. In retirement, he loved spending time with family and in the Texas Hill Country. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, who put his family's needs before his own. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and will rest peacefully at family property in the Texas Hill Country. A celebration of life will take place in the near future.
Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Kaschmitter and brother Bob Kaschmitter.
He leaves behind his wife Nancy, daughter Tanya Rodriguez, son-in-law Jesse Rodriguez, daughter Brandy Granden, son-in-law Kevin Granden, daughter Angela Holliday, son-in-law Shan Fladwood, grandson Tyler Holliday and his fiancée Madison Kilpatrick, granddaughter Larissa Rodriguez, and his very beloved cat Lizzy. He is also survived by loving siblings, Rosalie and Steven Freiberger, Gerald and Ginny Kaschmitter, Pam Kaschmitter, Paul and Sandy Kaschmitter, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
