Lawrence Doyal Kingery

Lawrence Doyal Kingery, age 104, of Beard passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Milner's Healthcare. Doyal was born November 12, 1921 in Beard to Lawrence and Faye (Sheets) Kingery. He married his high school sweetheart, Alice Frances Heaton and she preceded him in death on June 19, 2000.

Doyal attended elementary grades 1-8 in Beard, he then attended high school in Michigantown and graduated in 1940. He quickly found his passion in farming horses and livestock. Doyal often sold his cattle and hogs in Indianapolis once they were ready for market. This career in farming required him to repair his own machinery and work long hours, which aided in creating the hardworking, selfless man Doyal was.

Since his teenage years, Doyal was an active member of the Hopewell church and periodically taught Sunday School to young children. He and Alice Frances enjoyed traveling. They explored all over the country but could most often be found in Florida during the winter. He was an incredibly supportive man and loved his family dearly. Doyal made an effort to attend as many of his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events as he could, even if several were happening at the same time.

Doyal is survived by his children, Patty (Mike) Young, Peggy (John) Webster, and Nelson (Jill) Kingery; Grandchildren, Ben (Amy) Webster, Brian (Sarah) Webster, Brad Webster, Katy (John) Hazard, Jaci (Sam) Khun, Scott (Kory) Young, Nick (Kara) Smith, and Mike (Megan) Smith; Great-Grandchildren, Sy, Ally, Peyton, Korbin, Ryder, Coen, and Cael Webster, Zack, Juston, Adele, Alex, Valor, and True Smith, Marlee and Kiley Kuhn.

Doyal is preceded in death by his parents and wife; Son, Neal; daughter, Virginia Faye; Brother, Wayne Kingery and Daughter-in-Law, Jeri Jo Kingery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Hopewell Church in Beard, with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Doyal's honor can be made to the Hopewell Cemetery or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
