Lawrence Peter Krop

Lawrence "Larry" P. Krop, age 77, of Richton Park passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at his home. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Geri (nee Jones) Krop, his sons Matthew Krop and Doug (Katie) Krop. Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Irene Krop and his sister Judi Foltin. Larry was a graduate from Evergreen Park High School and served his country with the United States Navy. He enjoyed watching sports, listening to music and horse racing to name a few but what brought Larry most joy in life was his family. He had a strong work ethic, and he was a man of faith. Larry was a devoted and loyal husband and dedicated father who provided a selfless and sacrificing example for his boys. He will be dearly missed. Visitation for Lawrence will be on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 2-6:00 p.m. at Forsythe Gould Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6201 Vollmer Road, Matteson, IL 60443 with Pastor Matthew Troester officiating. Larry will lie-in-state from 9:00 until the time of his funeral service. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Manhattan Center Cemetery, Manhattan, IL.
